ABELL 2199

About this Object
Abell 2199 is a huge cluster of galaxies nearly 50 million light years distant.  The available literature mentions thousands of galaxies in this field.
The largest galaxy in the field is NGC 6166 (lower right)and one of the most unusual is NGC 6166B  a bit to the east of  NGC 6166.  6166B is unusual in shape
and has a bluish appearance.  Apparently many of the galaxies in this image are red shifted indicating thier extreme distance..  There are probably 50 easily seen
galaxies and many more extremely faint, at the edge of visibility.  Take a look at them in the hightest resolution view with allows some of their structure
to be seen.  The image is centered on RA 16h 29m 30s and DEC +39d 36m 09s J2000.
