IC2118 (Witch Head Nebula)

About this Object
Apply named, the Witch Head Nebula is a large area of dust in the Constellation Eridanius. The light from the super giant star Rigel, 2 1/2 deg SE (extreme lower left corner), in Orion, scatters off the dust and causes the bluish glow. The Witch Head is believed to be 1000 light years distant and its apparent size is a very large 1X3 degrees, larger than the moon
