About this Object
This image of the famous Great Andromeda galaxy was done using a 3nm Hydrogen Alpha filter. The image shows emission nebula encircling the galaxay and also hydrogen emission around the core of the galaxy which is typically very hard to see. This image was produced by taking 10hrs worth of data through the very narrow 3nm filter and also 6hrs worth of data through a red continuum filter. The red continuum data was subtracted from the Ha data removing the continuum emission and the stars. This leaves mainly Hydrogen Alpha light.
