About
this Object The area around M38 in Auriga is filled with areas of hydrogen emission. I shot this short sequence of RGB images while waiting for another object to rise and was suprised by the amount of background nebulosity captured by the short exposures. Some of the emission nebulosity which fills this area of the sky can be seen as areas of reddish background in the image. M38 is the large star cluster in the upper center of the image, Below M38 is the smaller star cluster NGC 1907. The emission nebula, IC417, is visible towards the lower center and the starcluster and nebula NGC 1931 slightly below and to the left of IC417.
