M78


About this Object
Part of the Great Orion Nebula complex, M78 is one of the brightest reflection nebula in the sky.  M78 is the bright blue area  just
below center in the image.  NGC 2071 is just to the North and East of M78.  Another object NGC 2064  extends down and south from M78.
In this area  stars are being born  within the clouds of hydrogen dust.  Wisps of dust extend outwared all around this entire area
with several prominent  areas to the North around NGC 2071.  Other areas of faint dust can be seen around the entire comnplex.
