NGC 1555 Hinds Variable Nebula

About this Object
Discovered by John Russell Hind in 1852,  Hinds varialble nebula is just to the west of the variable star T-Tauri.  T Tauri shines at
magnitude 9-13 and is a fairly young star formed out of the cloud of dust which surrounds this area.   The dust is  faintly visible in the image
just to the north of T-Tauri and extending  south to the edge of the field.  NGC 1555 is generally thought to be a reflection
nebula  which relects the color of the star T-Tauri.  The dust in this area is slowly being eaten away by radiation from the star.   A
dark hole appears surriounding the star which seems to indicate the continuation of this process.
