About
this Object NGC 2090 is a dim 12th magnitude spiral galaxy in the southern Constellation Columbia. Interestingly, I was able to resolve the faint spiral arms which are blue suggesting young star formation. The core is yellowish orange suggesting an older star population. This image was taken in rather poor windy conditions at the Winter Star Party in West Sumerland Key, FL. The low altitude and occasional passing clouds over three nights limited the amount of data aquired and led to a somewhat noisy image. Many other small galaxies are visible in the high resolution view.
