NGC4038-9, Corvus, 8"LX200 f3.4, MX7C, IDAS, 90min

NGC4038-9 is a classic example of what are actually two galaxies interacting or colliding with one another.  The nickname is the Ringtail
Galaxy due to the long filaments extending from each.  The filaments can faintly be seen extending off the back of each galaxy.  This image was processed to enhance these filaments.   This image is the sum of (30) 3min exposures guided with Star 2000 taken from my backyard observatory
in Ocean Springs MS.  The image was processed with Astroart 3.0 and Photoshop.
