NGC 404 "Mirach's Ghost"

About this Object
NGC 404 is a 10th magnitude dwarf elliptical galaxy nearly 7 arc min NW of Beta Andromeda (Mirach). Mirach is a red giant M class star only 200 light years distant. In comparison, NGC 404 lies some 10 million light years distant. Being so close to the light of sight of Mirach, the galaxy earned the nickname Mirachs Ghost.
