this Object Roughly half way between the bright super giant orange star Betelgeuse in the constellation Orion and the whitish star Procyon in Canis Minor lies the witner Milky Way. Within this area are several bright nebula, star clusters and reflection nebula. This wide field image captures the prominent Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) near the upper right area of the image. Towards the lower left area lies another reddish emission region containing the Cone nebula and fox fur nebula. Just to the right of this region and up just a bit is the triangle shapped NGC 2261, also called Hubbles Variable Nebula. Along the upper left are of the image is the bluish reflection nebula VdB 77. Many open star clusters are also sprinkled across the image along with fainter areas of red Hydrogen Alpha emission.
