M79, Lepus, 8"LX200 f3.4, MX7C, IDAS, 30min

M79 is a rather small Globular Cluster in the constellation Lepus.  It is rather low in the southern sky for observers in the Northern Hemisphere.  It is estimated to be 50,000 light years distant and is moving away from us at 118 mi/sec.  M79 was only 33 deg above the horizon from my vantage point near the Gulf of Mexico at 30deg N latitude.
