IC 1805 "The Heart Nebula"

About this object

Within the constellation Cassiopeia, lies the object IC 1805, also known as the Heart Nebula. IC 1805 is roughly 7,500 light years distant and spans 200 light years. Near the center of the nebula are stars which were born here around 1.5 million years ago. This cluster of hot stars is called Melotte 15. This image the result of 12hrs of exposure time through Red, Green, Blue and Hydrogen Alpha filters.
